Susan Reed  brings a unique combination of both federal government and contractor experience to her current work in Veterans Affairs Performance Management and Process Improvements. This perspective and insight spans over 25 years. Susan is currently a Program Management Officer and supports the overall VA IT Re-Alignment move from decentralization to centralization. She leads the effort to improve and standardize IT processes toward more effectiveness and cost efficiency. Susan also heads up the performance management effort to identify and track process measures in order to reach major program objectives. Susan’s strengths include her ability to gain acceptance to new ideas and improvements through clarity of vision and goals and mentoring to reach them.

Susan supported the Veterans Health Administration as a contractor (EDS) and built a new National Program Office for the award-winning Bar Code Medication Administration Program. The Bar Code Program has since earned stellar awards and accolades from both Industry and Government. The Program has accomplishments beyond expectations because of program efficiencies and teamwork that Susan helped to instill.

Prior to industry, Susan’s work experience started with the government as a contracts specialist, working up to a Contracting Officer in overseas positions. Her last federal position prior to industry was as Program Officer of the NAVSEA Policy & Procedures Organization.

Susan holds a BA in Economics and an MA in Life Sciences and is certified as a Contracts Manager, Contracts Fellow, and Project Manager. She is currently working towards an Advanced Project Manager Certification.
